THE TWELVE LIVES OF SAMUEL HAWLEY: Hannah Tinti

THE TWELVE LIVES OF SAMUEL HAWLEY

by Hannah Tinti

If a more compelling book comes out this year, I will be surprised. I was hooked from the very first page. Hawley and his daughter Loo settle down in a small fishing town after years on the run, but Hawley's past isn't yet ready to let him go. He's a crook, a hired gun with more than a little blood on his hands, doing his best to build a normal life for his daughter. Their relationship really sets this thriller above the standard shoot-em-up and makes the suspense almost unbearably tense.
