THE NAME OF THE WIND: Patrick Rothfuss
THE NAME OF THE WIND
by Patrick Rothfuss
I love reading fantasy in winter, it feels like I am blanketed in the author's imagination. Patrick Rothfuss has created a fantastical yet grounded world. King Killer Kvothe is in hiding, but when a Chronicler finds him, he tells his story. This has everything you would expect from a good fantasy novel: magic, dragons, and plenty of action. But what I really love is the lack of 'walking’. There’s no epic quest, rather Kvothe reacts to events around him, and this makes him a much more interesting character.
