DARK EMU: Bruce Pascoe

DARK EMU

by Bruce Pascoe

Bruce Pascoe’s enlightening history of Aboriginal agriculture before European settlement was a revelation to me. In undoing the colonial myths that pervade Australian history books, Dark Emu sheds light on a part of our history that we should all know much more about. It’s a celebration of the ingenuity of the oldest living culture in the world and its advanced knowledge of the land, sustainable farming and building. Knowledge that could and should play a role in our future as we grapple with climate change.
