ACTRESS: Anne Enright

ACTRESS

by Anne Enright

Reading Actress is like looking up at a perfectly painted portrait. You find yourself looking for the creases in the oil paint, the mystery behind a slight smile. This extraordinary novel is perhaps the Booker Prize winning author's best yet. It's the story of the celebrated but troubled actress Katherine O’Dell as told by her daughter Norah. As Norah picks apart the threads of her mother's life, struggling to understand her, she also lets us in on her own life. Actress is a beautifully written book, it’s like dark chocolate melting on the tongue.  If you want to experience what gorgeous writing can do, this is  a novel you will sink into easily.  Chocolate also recommended!
