I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS FOR YOU: Rebecca Makkai

I HAVE SOME QUESTIONS FOR YOU

by Rebecca Makkai

Ahh, this book really hit the spot for me! Something like a cross between The Secret History and the podcast Serial, it plays on campus novel and true-crime tropes in a complex literary mystery. I loved the moral ambiguity surrounding the main character Bodie's obsessive pursuit of the past. It brought up all kinds of interesting questions about trauma, memory, subjective truths and storytelling. The icy New England boarding school was a great backdrop to the clever plot which unfolds around the making of a student podcast.
