Join us on a magical Melbourne adventure this Christmas!

This year Mary Martin Bookshop is inviting families to take part in a magical treasure hunt through Melbourne’s CBD. Collect a free treasure map from Mary Martin’s Bookshop in Southbank and embark on a quest among Melbourne’s landmarks, looking for clues to solve a Christmas riddle.

The treasure map was designed by local children’s author and illustrator Mitchell Toy based on his bestselling picture book, The Midnight City. Toy has also created a stunning Christmas illustration on our bookshop window featuring characters from the book and a final clue. 

While the adventure itself is half the fun, those who solve the riddle will also receive a small prize and go into the running to win a hamper of books.

WHEN:
Anytime during opening hours between 20 November - 31st December 2020

WHERE :
The treasure hunt begins and ends at Mary Martin Bookshop, Ground Floor Southgate.

WHO:
The treasure hunt is aimed at children aged 5-12, but all are welcome to take part.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
Visit the bookshop during opening hours to collect a treasure map and begin your adventure. The route takes approximately 1 to 1.5 hours to complete and is all within the city’s free tram zone. Remember to bring a pen or pencil with you so you can fill in the letters as you find each clue.
