Join us at our Southbank store for a lively feast of food and words! We’re hosting an afternoon of conversations and demonstrations with the authors of three wonderful new cookbooks, Jaclyn Crupi, Kon Karapanagiotidis and Julie Weatherhead. We’ll have a chat with each cook and learn about their book, followed by a short cooking demonstration. There will also be the opportunity for you to personally meet the authors and have books signed.

Jaclyn Crupi - Pasta Love

Jaclyn Crupi is a Melbourne editor, bookseller and the author of several wonderful books for both children and adults including Mary Martin favourites Nonna Knows Best and Garden Like a Nonno. Her new book Pasta Love is a love letter to pasta and the people who make it. Jaclyn will be sharing the art of pasta making with us in a live demonstration.

Kon Karapanagiotidis - Philoxenia: A Seat at My Table

Written by Kon Karapanagiotodis, the inspiring founder of the Asylum Seeker Resource Centre’s (ASRC), and his mother, Sia, A Seat at My Table: Philoxenia, is a beautiful and inspiring Greek vegetarian and vegan cookbook featuring more than 100 recipes passed down through the generations. Join Kon as he shows us how to make a salad and tells us about this heartwarming book.

Julie Weatherhead - Australian Native Food Harvest

Julie Weatherhead is a native food plant specialist, who along with her husband Anthony Hooper, runs the Living Classroom at Peppermint Ridge Farm in Tynong North. The Australian Native Food Harvest is a guide for the ‘Passionate Cook and Gardener,’ providing practical advice for growing, harvesting and using Australian native plants. In a hands on demonstration, Julie will make a Wattle Green Pesto.
