CLASSICS BOOK CLUB

Welcome to our Classics Book Club, where we eschew the latest bestsellers to celebrate books that have stood the test of time! Join your fellow bibliophiles as we read or reread classic works of literature together and discuss great books from throughout the ages.

We will be embracing a broad definition of the term classic, revisiting old favourites as well as discovering overlooked gems, translated masterpieces, mid-century moderns and those canonical texts you didn’t get around to at school.

THIS MONTH

In March we will be reading Zora Neale Hurston’s classic, Their Eyes Were Watching God. First published in 1937, Hurston’s best-known work is one of the great novels of the Harlem Renaissance, articulating the experiences of a Black Woman in the South through rich prose and a vivid narrative voice.
