THE IDIOT: Elif Batuman
THE IDIOT
by Elif Batuman
Set at Harvard in the 1990s, The Idiot follows a young Turkish-American student in her first undergraduate year. Selin stumbles into her new life on campus, cautiously navigating her studies, her friendships and her first foray with love. Elif Batuman, a staff writer for The New Yorker, has drawn from her own life in this debut novel. Youthful and awkward in a way that's endearing, funny and very compelling, I just couldn't get enough of this book.
