DIARY OF A VOID: Emi Yogi
DIARY OF A VOID
by Emi Yogi
There is something inherently relaxing in reading about people buying vegetables. And nowhere is it done better than in a novel from Japan. Tired of being tasked with all of the menial jobs because she the only woman in the office, Ms. Shibata fakes a pregnancy. And thus starts an innovative novel that we can relate to our own bodies–through food, clothes and movement. It’s a gorgeous novel that blends reality and make believe and I loved it.
