My tiny human brain cannot quite find the words to describe how brilliant this book is. Set in a world besieged by apocalyptic earthquakes, the story opens with a woman suffering her own, private apocalypse. Her husband has murdered their son and kidnapped their daughter. From the earth-shaking opening to the final page the writing is flawless, the characters engaging and the story complex. I'm certain people will be raving about this trilogy for years, decades, even centuries to come.
