GHOST CITIES: Siang Lu

GHOST CITIES

by Siang Lu

Mythical and ridiculous all at the same time, Siang Lu has crafted a transcendental comedy of sorts about a young Chinese Australian man fired from his consulate job because he cannot speak Mandarin. From there it's an odyssey of ghosts and storytelling. This a novel that looks at the practicalities and uses of storytelling, whether commercial or for propaganda.  Ghost Cities is such a clever novel.
